This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid- or senior-level associate to join the Financial Services Regulatory practice of a one of the most profitable firms in the City, whose reputation for intellectual rigour and high-quality handling of the most challenging and consequential buy-side matters is absolutely beyond dispute.
The role will be predominantly non-contentious, though contentious regulatory experience (i.e. investigations, s166, enforcement) would be very useful. The firm is widely known as a market-leading advisor to private equity, hedge fund and credit fund, and institutional asset managers. A deep knowledge of MiFID II and AIFMD is essential. EMIT and SFTR would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will also have strong experience of managing regulatory applications; running regulatory due diligence; advising on a range of perimeter issues; and managing client matters, including supervising extant relationships; developing new ones; and supervising Junior lawyers.
The firm has a long-standing history of attracting City-trained lawyers whose professional integrity and strong ethic drives them to lead the market in top-quality corporate legal advisory work. The firm's training is consistently appraised as among the very best in London. Standards are high, but the work environment is very positive.
Remuneration levels are generous, and the firm places a strong emphasis on internal promotion. Lawyers who show themselves adept at client development and of palpable value to their practice can expect to advance to Partnership significantly more quickly than their peers at equivalent 'Circle' firms.
