US law firm is looking to hire a new Conflicts Analyst to assist the Conflicts New Business Manager and the wider Conflicts/New Business team with running conflicts search requests and the identification and resolution of potential conflict issues Firm-wide, particularly focusing on European and Asian offices. This is inclusive of conflicts of interest searches for legal and commercial conflicts.  Also assist with compliance/Anti-Money Laundering processes for new and existing clients, on-going client monitoring, sanctions checks and other risk management procedures.   Basic knowledge of AML regulations in Europe is required; additional training will be provided and the candidate should expect to devote 1-2 hours per day (on average) to AML-related assignments.  Duties will include being asked to run detailed conflicts search reports for European and Asian offices; research corporate history on clients and involved parties using Orbis/BvD, CapitalIQ, various publicly available sources; review conflicts results for true/false matches.  If needed, provide Conflicts Staff Attorneys (“CSA’s”) and in some cases partners with initial reviews and summaries of results of conflicts checks. Assist with conflicts resolution; assist with collecting executed engagement letters from new clients.  Communicate with partners and their assistants to ensure executed letters are received without delay.  Keep an audit record of the process and deal with general day to day queries via email and telephone.  Applicant require experience of working in a conflicts analyst position for at least 2 years, preferably from within a law firm, be highly IT proficient, with knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Anti-money laundering legislation and a familiarity with SQL.  Standard hours are 9:30 – 17:30 with this firm being housed in stunning City based offices.
