Regulatory body are seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join their busy team, up to £55,000

Your new company
An independent body responsible for regulating the private security industry within the United Kingdom. Their role includes the issuing licenses, under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 to individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry. They are also responsible for ensuring that only fit and proper people and organisations deliver regulated private security services.

Your new role
As a senior member of the Legal Team, you will be required to provide clear and robust legal advice to different directorates within the organisation in order to enable the organisation to to fulfil its responsibility of delivering an effective and independent regime for the regulation of the private security industry. You will play a key role within the complex case review group which plays a significant role in holding individuals and ACS businesses within the private security industry to account for their conduct. Finally you will be required to maintain a caseload of criminal litigation matters and statutory appeals in respect of licensing decisions and will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy. Advocacy will form an important part of the role.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will be a solicitor or barrister with extensive post qualification experience qualified in England and Wales with a current practising certificate. You will be a confident advocate with experience appearing in Magistrates Courts and/or Crown Courts. Furthermore, you should have sound knowledge of criminal and/or regulatory law practice and procedures with experience of managing a varied caseload as well as proven experience of providing appropriate legal advice in respect of prosecutions and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
