Non-departmental public body are seeking an interim Legal Counsel for up to 6 months, London or Coventry based
Your new company
Launched in 2017, this employer-led independent Crown body responsible for the quality of apprenticeships. The institute plays a crucial role in delivering the Governments vision to provide world-class apprenticeships system. Due to growth within the team, there is a need for an interim Legal Counsel to join the busy Legal department.
Your new role
Working closely with the Head of Legal, you will advise the Institute on all aspects of its work, as well as supporting with the procuring and contracting of Awarding Organisations. Ultimately you will help deliver the best possible commercial outcomes for the organisation. Finally, you will advise on issues such as data protection, freedom of information, contracts and procurement.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a highly motivated lawyer with strong communication skills and a sound understanding of public law. You should be a UK qualified Lawyer (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years PQE and you should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of public procurement legislation. Finally, you will have knowledge of commercial law and expertise in challenging commercial scenarios to achieve good commercial outcomes.
