Description
The job holder will be a qualified solicitor admitted in England and Wales with technical knowledge and experience of commercial contracts law, intellectual property and data protection. They will have a proven track record of operating in a fast paced, changing environment. The Legal Counsel will provide expert advice and support to the business.
Legal responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting and supporting/leading (depending on complexity) the negotiation of contracts and issues arising from their operation. In addition, the job holder will provide advice to the business on a wide range of issues, including intellectual property and data protection.
Provide support and advice throughout the lifecycle of products from early development to launch and through post launch commitments and lifecycle management
Draft, review and negotiate a variety of third party procurement, clinical trial and supply chain contracts.
Provide expertise on legal issues and risks.
Support both UK and global projects involving complex issues requiring a high degree of legal and business acumen
Support the management of a wide IP portfolio which includes patents and trademarks
Profile
For the In House solicitor role the candidates should have experience of some of the following
Qualified solicitor, with a minimum of 1- 3 years' PQE, some of which will ideally have been spent working in private practice (however all candidates who can demonstrate the required skills and competency will be considered)
Desired knowledge and understanding of key business and legal issues
Experience of drafting and negotiating contractual agreements
Knowledge and experience of data protection and, in particular, the GDPR would be a significant advantage but is not essential
