Gap Year Student Placements - Plexus Leeds

Our exciting new initiative offers students and individuals early in their career invaluable long-term paid experience in the legal sector, boosting your personal and professional development. Whether you are unsure about what your next step on the career ladder should be, or you are planning a year out of university, this work-focused opportunity is a fantastic way to boost your employment skills whilst earning at the same time. You do not necessarily need to be an aspiring lawyer, you may simply want experience of working within a business.

Our placements last for nine months, during which time you will be a fully integrated member of the team, working alongside legal professionals or our support teams to help provide exceptional services to our clients.

You’ll have first-hand opinions to share about people, places and ideas that others might not have, giving you a head start with applications and interviews in the future. You'll also be able to request a professional reference from Plexus after you leave.

We expect all our employees, including those on our Gap Year programme to undertake team specific and firm-wide training. When you look back at the end of the nine months, we guarantee you'll be amazed by just how much you have developed professionally and personally.

Take time to think about what you really want to do next

A Gap Year can give you space to think, time to reflect and to see things in a different light. It could open new opportunities for you and might even lead you down a completely career different path you’d never considered before. Or you might come back from your Gap Year and choose the university, college, or job you would have chosen anyway, but with the confidence that you’ve taken time to think it through. There's no right or wrong answer as long as your use your time proactively.

As part of the programme with Plexus, you will have a mentor and daily supervisor who will ensure the work you do is varied and in line with current projects your team is undertaking, in addition to providing you with invaluable pastoral support.
