A Pursuits Adviser is being sought by this law firm to advise partners and their teams on tailoring winning strategies and oversee the production of high quality, compelling documents and presentations. This role is with a niche international firm that has a formidable reputation within the insurance sector and has grown significantly in recent years.

As Pursuits Adviser, you will be working closely with the Head of Pursuits to develop and constantly improving a better model for pursuits. You will lead on strategic tenders, develop information resources and support the firm’s objecting of maintain or increasing its overall tender win rate. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching partners and others involved in winning new business in developing propositions, operating as a proactive internal consultant;
  • Promoting a sales pipeline culture, ensuring the identification of all known and/or anticipated pursuit opportunities so that partners can anticipate client needs and develop closer client relationships in the run up to RFPs being released;
  • Project managing a portfolio of pursuits simultaneously, involving facilitating and leading meetings, coaching pitch teams on winning presentations, etc.;
  • Analysing incoming pursuit opportunities, proposing pursuit/no pursuit decisions to the Head of Pursuits; and
  • Assisting partners in identifying key messages, in addition to writing/editing as required.

To be considered for this role, you will need experience of leading, advising on and winning pursuits and pitches, ideally within a law firm or other professional services organisation. Knowledge of the insurance sector is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be organised and methodical, with the ability to apply knowledge of modern pitch processes, systems and psychologies. Strong research, effective business writing and communication skills are essential.
