Legal Counsel

Private Healthcare

Central London

£55,000 - 70,000 (Salary negotiable on experience)

An innovative and market leading private healthcare organisation based in Central London is seeking a driven and motivated Legal Counsel to join their small dynamic legal team. The organisation provide a wide variety of care options for the elderly and disabled as well as those with long-term mental health conditions and those requiring assisted living.

Working closely with the General Counsel you will be responsible for advising on a wide range of commercial, corporate and company secretarial matters across the business. The role would suit a candidate with previous in-house experience or a lawyer with a couple of years' experience in private practice looking to take on a new challenge in-house.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements with partners and suppliers
  • Advising on commercial legal matters and minimising risk to the business
  • Advising on and managing corporate legal matters including re-organisations & acquisitions when necessary
  • Company Secretarial work including filings with Companies House, attending Board Meetings, advising and updating the Board, manging minutes etc.
  • Maintaining strong regulatory knowledge and advising the business on changes - particularly relevant to healthcare and data protection
  • Managing external Counsel and giving instruction where necessary

Your background:

  • UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister
  • Strong commercial experience and eye for legal risk
  • Able to manage multiple projects and workloads at once
  • Willingness to learn and develop new legal skills
  • Confident negotiator
  • Previous in-house experience beneficial but not required
