Head of Legal - innovative technology company - sole counsel

An innovative, high growth technology company that recently secured a successful series A funding is looking for their first Head of Legal. As sole legal counsel your role will be to facilitate their UK and international growth plans by working with new and existing partners and suppliers to scale the business.

Reporting to the CFO you will work across the broad range of commercial, corporate, IT, IP and HR disciplines required in a fast-growing business, leveraging external counsel where necessary. The work would include:

• Responsible for providing general legal advice on a wide range of commercial, transactional, compliance, regulatory, employment and cross border matters;
• Responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a range of contracts;
• Advising on data protection and compliance
• Work with business teams to research and evaluate risk factors regarding business decisions and operations

To be considered for this position you must be UK qualified at a top tier law firm and possess at least 3 years PQE. Ideally you will have in house experience in the technology industry and a broad commercial skill set. This is a great opportunity for an engaging lawyer in private practice who wants to take their first step in-house to be closer to business decisions or, for an in house lawyer who wants to take a step up into a role with more responsibilities and autonomy.
