Commercial In House Legal Counsel | EasyJet, Luton | Up to £55K

EasyJet are seeking a German-qualified commercial lawyer to join the team at their Head Office in Luton.

The Role

Reporting into the Consumer Claims Team Leader, the in-house legal counsel will be responsible for managing, coordinating and processing consumer legal challenges from customers in Germany and Austria, assessing cases to determine whether they should be legally challenged. Other responsibilities of the legal counsel include:

• Drafting various court and ADR documents necessary to protect EasyJet's position
• Instructing and liaising with EasyJet's internal and external legal representatives
• Providing advice and training to the wider business
• Supporting the Disputes Team and advise customer service

The Candidate

For this in-house legal counsel role EasyJet are seeking a German-qualified commercial lawyer or experienced paralegal with strong English and German language skills. Other desirable skills and experience include:

• Prior aviation sector experience would be a benefit but is not necessary - the required training is able to be provided
• Any contentious experience in consumer / civil litigation or aviation-specific claims would also be a benefit but is not essential

Benefits

The successful in-house lawyer can expect to receive:

• A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000
• Up to 20% annual bonus
• 5% non-contributory pension
• EasyJet will also cover 50% of train tickets, making this an ideal role for lawyers based in London or the surrounding areas.
• There will also be the opportunity to work from a central London office one day per week.
