One of London’s leading US law firms is looking to hire a Senior Communications Specialist who has both a legal writing background and a strong writing/editing skillset. The Senior Communications Specialist plans and executes firmwide and market-specific communications programs in a dynamic, deadline driven environment. This position serves as the initial point of contact for the communications team for requests from EMEA, reviews and proofreads copy, advises on best practices, coordinates production with the editorial board and the design team, and ensures timely delivery of high-quality materials, including ads, flyers, brochures and presentations.  Duties will include to serve as co-project manager for the communications team, which includes receiving project requests from EMEA and adding new projects to the project queue. This also includes coordinating closely with the U.S.-based project manager, work with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements; make recommendations in terms of format, style and copy; and see projects through to completion and/or assign projects to the editorial board as appropriate, serve as a copy editor and proof-reader for marketing collateral and other firm materials, serve as the point person within Marketing to coordinate updating dechert.com and collateral for EMEA office moves, address changes, closings and openings. Prepare and send internal and external Vuture announcements, oversee monthly updates to numbers of lawyers on maps in the firm credentials templates, update firmwide slides with the latest awards, facts and figures, ensure consistency with firm brand and writing guidelines in all materials and messages, communicate regularly with internal clients on the status of projects.  This firm is looking for applicants with at least five years of marketing communications experience in a corporate setting, ideally within a law firm then preferably a professional-services firm, excellent writing and communication skills, including strong grammar, punctuation and spelling skills, and an ability to translate technical and industry-specific information into clear, compelling content, excellent project management skills, knowledge of AP Style, the ability to conceptualise, think critically, and translate into creative, effective marketing communications programs, be detail-oriented and organized and have the ability to prioritize and see projects through to completion in an environment where priorities change quickly.
