Senior Corporate Counsel- Privacy EMEA

Our client is a rapidly expanding international Technology organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast moving business with its legal team at the forefront of its commercial operations.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated lawyer with proven privacy law experience to join the dynamic legal team. The position will primarily be responsible for providing legal support on transactions and operational processes involving privacy and data protection, and providing training across the organisation.

• Provide privacy guidance and support to various departments, including global marketing, procurement, product teams, sales, HR, and the governance , risk and compliance team.
• Assist the legal team in reviewing and negotiating privacy-related agreements in support of global sales transactions.
• Create and maintain privacy related notices, policies, standards, guidelines and processes.
• Develop and administer privacy training.
• Continually reassess the company's privacy practices in light of changes in the law.
• Assist with M&A due diligence in the area of privacy.

To be successful

• 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of a technology company.
• Substantive and demonstrated experience in privacy and data protection laws.
• International experience and working knowledge of global data transfer mechanisms, including Privacy Shield and Binding Corporate Rules.
• Experience conducting privacy reviews and privacy impact statements.
• Ability to assess risk and provide concise business-focused advice.
• Demonstrated experience with SaaS and PaaS a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills.
