Lead Counsel

I am currently working with a national infrastructure company who are seeking to add a lead solicitor to their growing organisation based in Kent.

This will be a varied role with direct access to the board and other senior stakeholders. As such, the successful candidate will head up the Legal services team and be responsible for;

• Undertaking a wide range of contract reviews as well as drafting contracts (JCT's & NEC) collateral warranties etc
• Advising on litigious issues, issuing and defending proceedings, drafting pleadings and preparing for hearings, and instructing specialist external counsel where necessary.
• Leading on corporate and property acquisitions

• Working alongside the insurance team to ensure value in all matters
• Advise, and work with, the board and investigations team, on wider legal matters as and when required.

The ideal candidate for this role will have/be;

• At least 10+ years' PQE gained from a leading city firm or similar In House position
• Experience of contentious construction & engineering matters
• Experience of a wide range of relevant contract types (JCT, NEC3, JVA etc)
• Ability to interact, and work alongside, senior stakeholders whilst advising on any commercial risk or compliance matters.
