JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Residential Conveyancer
REPORTING TO: Head of Department
LOCATION: Medway - Kent
SALARY: Dependent on experience

Duties include:-

Assisting with the handling of conveyancing files including but not limited to purchases, sales, remortgages, transfers, equity releases, shared ownership transactions
Dealing with registered and unregistered properties to the required standard of service as set by the Firm with adequate supervision
Ensuring the Firm’s Case Management systems is used to the required standard
Bringing to the attention of the Supervisor any matters of concern arising in a transaction that could result in a financial or professional liability to the Firm
Undertaking any other tasks reasonably requested by the firm to assist in the progression of
transactions from receipt of instructions to the closure of the file
Liaising with the Supervisor to ensure tasks performed and file progressed in a timely manner
Attending to quote enquiries in a speedy and accurate way

Taking Will instructions and drafting
Taking Lasting Powers of Attorney instructions and drafting
Taking Probate instructions, gathering in information on assets and liabilities, drafting Oath,
preparing Revenue forms, obtaining Grant and administration of estates

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will have:
A minimum residential conveyancing experience in fee earning or support role of 12 months
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Excellent customer service skills
An ability to work with a case management system, databases and normal office IT systems
Ability to work within a team
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees at all levels of the business
Flexibility to commute between branch offices as and when required
A polite, professional and pleasant personality
Ability to undertake Private client work with training
