Local Authority Criminal Prosecutions Locum

Our client, a well-known London Borough is currently looking for an experienced criminal prosecutions solicitor or barrister to join their legal team.

The position will involve regular liaison with Council Departments, External Agencies, Courts, External Solicitors, Barristers, QC's, Experts, Bailiffs and the Law Centre/CAB and aid them on criminal prosecution matters.

The post is a three month rolling contract and will be an exciting opportunity for experienced criminal prosecution lawyers looking to gain further experience within a well-established Local Authority team which is fast paced and works to tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A current practising certificate or be eligible to apply for a practising certificate, or a qualified Barrister or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, or possessing an equivalent qualification gained in another jurisdiction
• An understanding of the concepts underpinning administrative and corporate law as it relates to local government.
• Knowledge of the law relating to the area of service where the assignment is based, such as prosecutions and environmental Law, general litigation and housing
