Your new company
Set up by Parliament, this body is responsible for helping settle disputes between consumers and UK based business who provide financial services such as banks, building societies, insurance companies, investment firms, financial advisers and finance companies. A new position has been created for a Legal Counsel to join the existing in-house legal team to specialise in employment law.

Your new role
As a member of the in-house team you will provide clear, tailored advice on a wide range of legal, jurisdiction and rules issues - mainly revolving around employment law, but also public law, financial services law and regulation, litigation, contracts, information law, procurement, policy, corporate and project work. You will deliver legal advice to internal clients, and advise and act for the organisation if they are challenged through the courts. In addition you'll contribute to the design and delivery of training, and update knowledge tools to ensure relevant legal and jurisdiction knowledge is appropriately shared and accessible across the organisation. Finally, the role will involve working closely with other Legal team members and with internal clients to grow an effective employment law in-house function.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will be a solicitor or barrister qualified in England and Wales (or an equivalent jurisdiction) and have proven recent experience and expertise in employment law matters, both litigious and advisory, with a good understanding of employee relations and best practice in the workplace. Sharing knowledge is key to the organisation, so training experience would be preferable. You should be highly experienced employment law with recent experience in the public, regulatory or commercial sectors or in private practice.

What you'll get in return
In addition to a competitive salary and flexible benefits package, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of a new legal venture for this organisation.
