Description
This is a newly created employment counsel role within the UK legal function but will involve international matters. reporting into the Head of Legal and working as part of a four-strong UK team (with potential of further growth). You will also be part of a wider international network and will support your commercial/ compliance counterparts in particular.
Work will include providing sound pragmatic advice on TUPE matters, restructures and change programs. You will ensure compliance with UK and EU laws, and maintain and update the database of employment policies in line with the law and the company's aims. You will also manage employment litigation, from concept through to and including tribunal advocacy where necessary. you will further manage external counsel and lead internal responses to grievance, disciplinary and dismissal processes. You will work closely with the HR function while designing and delivering formal training covering legislative updates and regular sessions in relation to relevant company developments. On occasion, as a team player you will contribute to non-employment matters including commercial agreements/ compliance if appropriate.
Profile
- Experienced and confident employment specialist
- International experience with some exposure to re-structures or activity during Mergers & Acquisitions
- Personable and friendly with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships quickly
- In-house experience is desirable but not essential
