Job Title: Defendant Insurance Lawyer – Motor & Household
Department: Defendant Department
Reporting to: Head of Department
Main purpose of role:
On behalf of our High Net Worth insurer clients, review and maintain a caseload of both motor and household claims
Key Accountabilities:
- You will be responsible for your own mixed caseload of both pre and post litigation high value motor claims to include serious personal injury and complex credit hire and household claims including but not limited to fires, escapes of water, property damage, injuries arising from animals.
- Cases will include instruction on both a delegated and non delegated basis.
- The ability to deal with subrogated counter claims is highly desirable.
- You will also handle and provide advice on claims involving policy coverage disputes and suspected fraud.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of managing your own caseload of defendant motor and household claims, with exceptional technical knowledge, gained preferably from within an Insurer or Solicitor background to ensure delivery of optimum case outcomes
- Sound knowledge of the CPR, Pre Action Protocols, Personal Injury Protocol and litigation procedures
- Computer literate and able to use comfortably, Excel and Word. Experience of Proclaim or similar in house case management system is desirable.

- Excellent negotiation skills and an excellent telephone manner
- Ability to provide outstanding service levels in accordance with client Service Level Agreements is a key requirement
- Self starter with initiative and ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- Team player who will support colleagues and have ‘can do’ attitude
- Aptitude, drive and determination to achieve the best outcome for our clients
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
