Environmental Solicitor

An exciting opportunity within a busy and highly regarded environmental department at the Birmingham office of a national firm.

What does the role involve?

* Advising on environmental aspects of property and corporate transactions as well as advising on a wide range of stand-alone environmental law issues.
* Advising on strategies for environmental risk management in a variety of transactions/circumstances.
* Undertaking legal due diligence and providing focussed reporting to clients on environmental risks and proposing effective mitigation of such risks.
* Advising on the use of environmental insurance and undertaking negotiations with the insurer (via a broker) on bespoke environmental insurance policies.
* Advising clients on a range of stand-alone environmental issues including asbestos, environmental permitting, waste and reuse of materials and contaminated land.
* Business development activities.

Requirements of the successful environmental solicitor

* Experience of advising on stand alone environmental issues and/or those relating to real estate or corporate transactions.
* Contentious experience would be a bonus but not a necessity.
* A minimum of three years' post qualification experience (no upper limit set and senior/partner level hires will be considered).
