Head of Data Protection

A well known brand with headquarters in the Midlands is looking for a senior lawyer to join the business as Head of Data Protection.

The role would be perfect for someone with more than 5 years PQE and significant experience advising on Data Protection, monitoring compliance and advising on GDPR.

Reporting into, and working closely alongside, the General Counsel, the Head of Data Protection will be responsible for;

· Ensuring that the organisation complies with all relevant DP statutory requirements, including GDPR
· Supporting and advising the senior leadership team on any Data Protection matters
· Managing a team of 3 Compliance professionals, and expanding this team over time
· Build relationships internally and externally, including with the ICO
· Monitor compliance and identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks
· Hold the statutory function of Data Protection Officer for the organisation

We'd like to speak to Data Protection Lawyers with at least 5 years experience in the area, ideally whilst working in commerce and industry.
This is a senior appointment to the business; you will be adept at working autonomously and have a pragmatic approach.
