My Client is a well-regarded Law Practice based in the Northern Leeds area, the firm are looking to expand their already successful property division with the recruitment of a Head of Department

Role

  • Managing a team of fee earners dealing with both residential and commercial property matters from inception to completion.
  • Excellent relationship skills because of creating and developing strong working relationships with a wide range of clients.
  • A key part in the business development of the department with an interest in networking and marketing.
  • A client following is preferable but not essential.

Knowledge

  • The experience of handling residential sale and purchase, leasehold and freehold matters, and unregistered property.
  • An ability to deal with new build properties and shared ownership will be advantageous.
  • Landlord and tenant management - licences to alter/assign/AGA.
  • Experience in commercial lending on residential premises including purchasing in a company and BTL portfolios.
  • Experienced in re-mortgages.
  • Experienced in transfer of equity.
  • Experience in commercial acquisitions, sales, leases, licences to assign is essential
  • The ability to deal with company purchasers and company property re-finance of residential properties.
  • Experience in re-finance of commercial property.
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial leases of offices, shops, industrial units.
  • Experience in lease extensions

Experience

  • At least 5+ experience in dealing with both residential and commercial property matters.
  • Experience in the CQS application process.
  • A proven record of providing excellent service to a wide range of clients.
  • Working closely with other members of the team and assist on the more complex matters.
  • Experience of managing Residential Conveyancing files from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
  • Experience of using case management systems and revising systems.
  • Assisting with the setup of a new digital app.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Interaction with other Heads of Departments.
  • Involvement with management and monthly board meetings.

Salary would be based on experience and there is a genuine possibility of Directorship. The firm also have several other benefits such as Free Parking, Pension Scheme as well as staff benefit package.
