SENIOR LAWYER - CONTRACTS AND PROCUREMENT
£42,806 - £45,646
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Contracts and Public Procurement Lawyer to join 3Cs Shared Legal Practice carrying out work for South Cambridgeshire District Council (main office base), Cambridge City Council and Huntingdonshire District Council.
The post requires detailed knowledge of the current law on contracts and procurement, especially the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the provision of accurate oral and written legal advice to officers of all levels of the Councils on a wide range of contract and public procurement law matters. The work is varied, intellectually challenging and complex and involves working on some interesting projects.
The successful applicant will have substantial experience of, and be able to, draft goods, services and works contracts, prepare JCT construction contracts, draft framework agreements and call-off contracts, prepare ICT contracts, MOUs and grant agreements and similar and/or associated documentation. Some bespoke drafting is required. The ability to use PLC, Westlaw and an electronic case management system (including time recording) is essential as work is predominately computer based without paper files.
The post-holder must be willing to share information and work positively with all other team members and officers, attend team and client meetings, sometimes train less experienced officers and follow office and Council procedures and policies.
The successful applicant will be a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. Previous experience of working in the public sector or in private practice advising public sector clients may be helpful.
This is a full time post however the Legal Practice is willing to consider requests for flexible working.
