About the Role
Close Brothers Asset Management (“CBAM”) is looking for an experienced commercial contracts lawyer of 2 – 4 years PQE to join the legal team on a fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave.
The role will report into CBAM’s Head of Legal and, while primarily focused on commercial contracts, will be dynamic and will involve supporting the legal function on a broad range of legal matters
The contract is for a period of between 6 – 12 months
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts
- Identification and management of legal risks within CBAM
- Providing advice to the business on general corporate and commercial queries
- Offering general corporate support to the corporate governance and company secretariat
- Providing dedicated legal support to key strategic and regulatory projects
About you
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified solicitor of 2 – 4 years PQE with broad legal experience working in-house or within a private practice law firm
- In-house financial services experience an advantage, particularly in the asset and/or wealth management industry
- Experience of negotiating contracts relating to investment management, regulated outsourcings and/or GDPR would be considered a significant advantage
- Working knowledge of funds governance and financial services regulation desirable but not necessary
- First rate academic credentials, demonstrable intellectual ability and an excellent career track record to date
