A well respected leading professional Medical Body within the United Kingdom operating in a similar way to a trade union to protect, support and represent the interests of the practising professionals within the Optometrist field. They provide high quality services and benefits to enable their members to fulfil their professional roles. Due to growth within the legal team, they are seeking a Head of Professional Discipline to come on board.
Your new role
The purpose of your new role will be to provide legal and regulatory advice/assistance to members and internal departments in relation to legal matters affecting individual members and or the profession. You will also have management of a team of professional discipline solicitors and paralegals. You will manage and have conduct of your own portfolio of cases, which will include the provision of legal advice, drafting of documents, case preparation and management and supervision of the Professional Discipline work stream. Finally, you will report regularly to the Director of Legal and Regulatory Services on the progress of caseload and any issues arising from this.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will have significant experience as a solicitor or barrister in a professional regulatory field and have relevant experience in all aspects of the legal workload. You will have demonstrable experience of working at an executive level and contribution to the strategic goals of current and previous employers. Finally you will have experience of managing professional staff, delegating and monitoring the work of others to achieve targets.
