Description

The Head of Information Governance will be responsible for:

  • Running Information Governance activities
  • Building an effective working relationship with the legal team, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and best practice including the GDPR, the DPA, PECR and e-commerce regulations
  • Playing a key role in delivery of the Data Programme, working with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Leading the Information Governance team in London
  • Specialist advice on IG best practice and legislation
  • Attending Board meetings to represent the legal team as Head of Information Governance
  • Advising the DPO on relevant breaches and activity
  • Conducting DPIAs

Profile


Industry recognised qualifications in information governance- e. ISEB Data Protection, Certified International Privacy Professional or equivalent experience

* Sound understanding of confidentiality and data protection legislation, including GDPR, the DPA 2018, and PECR

* Sound understanding of information security frameworks

* An understanding of best practice in the field of data protection and information sharing, particularly with regard to fundraising practices and health and social care data. -

* Experience of developing, overseeing and managing information governance work programmes and policies

* Experience of providing information governance, including data protection and records management, advice and guidance to colleagues

* Excellent and engaging written and oral communication skills

* Experience of working in a similar role within a national organisation

* Strong leadership experience, gained through senior manager roles in a relevant filed

* Proven ability to motivate, inspire and develop teams to deliver high performance

* Experience of working in the charity sector preferred

Job Offer

Salary flexible for outstanding candidate

34 hour working week, including an early finish on Fridays
