A Multinational Retail Group is seeking an experienced junior commercial lawyer to join their established in-house team as legal counsel. Based in their Northamptonshire offices, the successful legal counsel will report directly to the Head of Legal.

Your new role

Primary responsibilities will be in relation to the company’s UK operations. The legal counsel will be responsible for:

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts on matters relating to intellectual property licensing, distribution, procurement, online services and technology agreements, as well as consumer promotions, terms and conditions;
• Providing timely, high quality advice on a wide range of legal issues, including copyright, trademarks, defamation and competition laws; and
• Encouraging legal compliance and data protection across the UK business.

What you’ll bring to the team

The successful legal counsel will be a tenacious, self-motivating junior lawyer who enjoys working as part of an in-house team and as an individual. You’ll be commercially astute and have up to 4 years of PQE, ideally gained in an in-house role.
