The Role

Because the firm are continuously expanding, they are looking for a Shipping Finance Paralegal to join their flourishing Finance team in London. You do not need Shipping Finance specific experience, a good level of general Banking/Finance experience is sufficient.

The core profile of the firm's clients are wealthy families, often with a number of family trusts and grant making charitable trusts. Their assets are likely to include shares in family owned businesses, quoted investments, bespoke open ended investment companies, hedge funds, landed estates and property.

They also act for business executives, entrepreneurs who have generated their own wealth, and families whose assets have accumulated over the generations, and across retail, technology and automotive.

Although most of their clients have a UK nexus, there is a substantial offshore, foreign and international aspect to their practice and you would be expected to be familiar with dealing with the challenges this brings.

You will have a hands on role, supporting a Partner at the firm, and tackle a wide range of issues across clients comprising of some of the world's largest ship owners, shipyards, energy services companies, ship finance banks, and more. The firm's maritime clientele is international, and comprise of high net worth individuals and companies, including in luxury ships.

You will experience a range of maritime and international trade finance issues, including: commodities, ship and offshore finance, shipbuilding, shipping litigation, trade finance and more.
