Head of Private Client

A Head of Department role within the Private Client (Wills and Probate) team is required to join a traditional firm in central York. This is a fantastic opportunity and would suit someone with a strong background and experience within another private client department looking for the responsibility of heading up a department. Flexible working hours are on offer however the ideal would be a Private Client Solicitor looking to work 3-4 days a week in York.

There is an existing strong department in place however the firm envisage that you will have a minimum of five years Private Client fee earning experience and will be a qualified Solicitor and either already be STEP qualified or be working towards this.

The Role
The department provides a full private client service covering Wills, Probate, Elderly Client, Deputyships and Lasting Powers of Attorney, therefore your involvement would be varied across all elements of the Private Client work.
You will work very closely with the current team both fee earning and also on a managerial level.
The team are small and traditional, therefore management experience is preferred, although someone who only has supervisory experience will be considered. It is essential however that you have been a successful fee earner and understand the day to day duties of such in a team.

The Candidate
You will have around five years' experience as a Private Client Solicitor and be working towards or already be STEP qualified.
You will ideally have some managerial experience or at least some supervisory experience.
You must be confident working within a traditional firm and seeking a long term opportunity.
