Corporate M&A, Senior Legal Counsel, 4-6 years PQE

This European financial services company with offices in over 70 countries with a total of 147,000 employees and popular for insurance and asset management is looking to recruit a senior legal counsel in its London office to act as sole legal support for its thriving M&A business. You will report to the Head of Legal based in its European office.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Legal M&A advice on direct investments in unregulated as well as regulated industries (including infrastructure assets and public private partnership transactions)
• Legal M&A advice on selected complex renewable energy transactions
• General corporate law matters and legal advice in portfolio management

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant experience in a leading law firm or legal department at a PE fund, international corporate or an investment bank, the ability to quickly become familiar with basic regulatory regimes in the infrastructure and energy sectors, the ability ty to provide persuasive and convincing legal advice to a high-performing and international internal client base. German language skills would be advantageous but not strictly necessary.
