Commercial Lawyer - Finance

Our client, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Ltd is seeking to expand its in-house legal team with the addition of a Commercial Lawyer to join the team at its head office in Buckinghamshire. It is a superb global brand with a multi-billion dollar turnover. It has a strong line up of products that imbue quality and reliability, and in the UK it is considered to be one of the market leaders.


The Business

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) is the UK finance and leasing company of Daimler Financial Services AG. It is a full-service automotive finance company that exclusively provides Mercedes-Benz dealers and customers (commercial and personal) with a comprehensive range of financial services - leasing and financing, insurance and banking, and mobility services.


The Role

The Finance Lawyer will support the Senior Finance Lawyer in providing legal advice to the group financial services business, MBFS, providing:

· non-contentious consumer credit advice;
· drafting banking and security documentation; and
· negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including fleet sales and supplier agreements;. You will ensure the company is up to date with regulatory and legislative developments, helping to prepare legal reports and delivering legal training as required.

The Person

Individuals applying for this position should have strong commercial training and experience in/an understanding of consumer credit, wholesale banking, asset finance or another form of financial services with exposure to the FCA regulatory regime. MBFS have recruited Finance Litigation lawyers with relevant experience in the past, so this will also be considered.
