Local Authority Criminal Prosecutions Locu

Our client, a well-established Central London local authority is looking for an experience criminal prosecutions locum to join their team.

The position involves working in a busy legal team and working on their criminal prosecutions cases, involving: Licensing, Fraud, Housing and Food Safety. The role will also involve representing the council in court on prosecution cases.

The post is expected to last 12 months and is an exciting opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join an exciting team and develop their local authority .

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A current practising certificate, or be a qualified Barrister and Filex
• Knowledge of the law relating to the area of service where the assignment is based, e.g. Prosecutions and Environmental Law, General Litigation, Housing
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, and to build effective relationships with Council Members, senior managers, business units, other sections and outside agencies.
• Confidence to act as liaison with external legal counsel and internal stakeholders
• The ability to deal with company administration and review company communications
