Our client who operates in the travel sector is looking to recruit a Litigation Paralegal to work as part of their legal team based in Manchester.
Description
Please see below for some of the responsibilities for the Litigation Paralegal role to be based in Manchester.
- Draft responses to customers and Claimant solicitors regarding the EC Regulations.
- Open files on case management systems, negotiate settlements and raise necessary compensatory payments to Claimants and keeping an accurate record.
- Carry out claims related administration tasks and Legal Research.
- Assist with a variety of customer legal related matters.
- Assist with and handle customer claims through arbitration.
- Manage claims from inception to a conclusion, whilst keeping customer service and experience in mind throughout.
Profile
Candidates that can meet some of the following criteria should apply for the Litigation Paralegal role
- Confident with strong communication and people skills from litigants in person to opposing solicitors.
- Detail orientated, highly organised and thrive in fast paced environment.
- A tactical approach to managing your workload, must be motivated and driven.
- A knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and the Pre-action Protocol essential.
- Awareness of EU Regulations & Flight Delay & related case law or the ability to learn this area
- Legal research experience & enthusiasm to learn.
- Experience working in a law firm, or legal environment would be preferred of assisting senior members of a legal team would be beneficial.
- Previous use of case management systems.
- Travel industry experience would be an advantage, as would a wider awareness of the travel/airline industry and challenges/recent developments.
- Eager to develop
- Law degree / LPC / Paralegal experience would be beneficial
