This is a Senior Legal Counsel role with an autonomous national remit (UK) focusing on B2B and B2C energy supply.
Client Details
Our client is an international energy supply business with a presence in the Americas, Europe and Eastern Asia. The business's EU Headquarters in Milton Keynes, where this role is based.
Description
Responsibilities with this role include:
- Advise management, business clients, as well as Human Resources, Finance, Supply, Product, and other company colleagues on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures and consultation strategy.
- Advising, drafting, reviewing and editing contracts, marketing materials, commercial agreements and documents with respect to customer acquisitions in UK and EU markets.
- Review, draft and discuss licensing and intellectual property agreements, technology licensing agreements, marketing agreements and content development agreements on a daily basis.
- Assuring legal compliance in te businesses European (and specifically UK) activities.
- Participation in contract negotiation and administration, labour law & corporate matters.
Profile
The successful candidate will be likely to:
- Be a UK qualified lawyer
- Have at least 7 years of post qualification experience gained either at a top 50 chambers ranked law firm or in house within a respected legal team.
Preferable:
- Experience in consulting, drafting and advising clients on energy-related agreements, including multi-jurisdictional transactions.
- Energy relations legal experience, preferably with related corporate and commercial legal experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the legal regulation of the energy or utility sector in the UK and EU.
- Litigation experience.
