An excellent new opportunity has arisen with this ever popular Leeds commercial firm for a solicitor to take up a key role within the risk and compliance function of the firm, supporting the firm's Head of Operational Excellence.

Details of the role

- A varied role, covering a mix of risk & compliance and operational excellence
- Working closely with the Head of Operational Excellence to ensure the firm's continued compliance with a broad range of regulatory obligations
- Compliance matters include data protection compliance, financial regulatory compliance, SRA compliance, money laundering etc
- Also focussing on the design and implementation of a range of operational improvement tools and helping to ensure higher engagement with these across the firm
- Working closely with external compliance consultants
- Engaging with emerging technological advances relevant to the role
- Working closely as the law firm as a business, part of the in-house function

Who are they looking for?

- A qualified solicitor with around 2-6 years' PQE
- A solid understanding of the regulatory challenges faced by law firms
- A solid understanding of the workings of a law firm as a business
- A sharp mind that can translate complex concepts into pragmatic recommendations
- An excellent communicator with strong clear influencing skills
- Ideally practical experience in risk and compliance issues
