Role Overview:

Our client are seeking an In House Lawyer to provide advise to all brands and division within the company's UK division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Company resolutions
  • Prepare, review and file all necessary Company applications and registrations with local authorities, including maintenance and regular updating of all applicable statutory registers and records, timely submission of statutory returns and documents in coordination with the company secretary;
  • Review, draft and negotiate legal documents and contracts for the Company's day to day operation; support the company Legal department in major or important contractual negotiations;
  • Provide advice to the Company in all legal matters;
  • Represent the Company's interests before local authorities, associations, commissions, as well as vis-à-vis clients and suppliers;
  • Assist in the settlement of legal cases through mediation and the conclusion of settlement agreements;
  • Represent the Company in court proceedings, before ordinary and arbitration courts; suggestions regarding the representation of any Company through external lawyers to be approved by Supervisor;
  • Initiate and coordinate anti-counterfeiting activities on all levels for company brands, e. the internet, raid of manufacturing sites, customs protection of brands
  • Review and file all legal documents, including, but not limited to, Company contracts and registration documents, and maintain complete records;
  • Follow-up and supervise contractual terms, filing deadlines and due dates;
  • Follow and inform about relevant legal developments, e. new laws, relevant jurisprudence; Provide legal research on topics defined by Supervisor;
  • Ensure protection of intellectual property rights of group companies in coordination with the Legal Department;
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with applicable statutory requirements, policies and directives issued by the company and the internal control system.

Required Experience:

  • England and Wales qualified lawyer
  • Demonstrable experience of a minimum of three years practice providing commercial legal advice as an in-house counsel is essential
  • Experience of having worked within the luxury or wider retail industry
  • A strong working knowledge of commercial contract law and intellectual property rights
  • Working knowledge of data protection laws (including GDPR) and compliance issues
  • Employment law experience
  • High level of planning and organisational skills, with a great ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent drafting, communication (written and verbal) and negotiating skills Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
