One of the US’ leading law firms is looking to hire a new Business Development Manager to support the Global Mining and Metals and Power Industry Groups on marketing and business development strategy and implementation to deliver on the group’s objectives. Focusing on lead generation and winning work, client and regional targeting, external branding and internal coordination. In this role you will work closely with the Industry Groups Lead Partners and the Global Director of Clients and Industries, responsibilities are likely to include the following: Lead generation and winning work, Client and regional targeting, External branding and Internal coordination. Duties will include staying on point with current and emerging issues, liaising with the Lead Partners to prioritise identified trends and issues and develop strategic plans, proactively assist in new business opportunity spotting and tracking including the coordination of updates to deal pipelines, lead/participate in large and complex bids, build own network of industry contacts including conference managers and strategic collaborators, build strategy and manage client relationships, including building tailored plans where appropriate, creating meaningful touchpoints to efficiently deepen individual interactions and financial analysis, coordinate with key practices across the network to ensure that they are developing offerings tailored to industry priority clients, ensuring clients experience a joined up and integrated offering, globally, support industry client feedback sessions including providing briefs to Firm management, manage regular regional team calls and visits including building meeting schedules and use industry knowledge to generate and target marketing and thought leadership campaigns on key and emerging trends and issues and work in partnership with the global marketing and communications team to develop and execute thought leadership campaigns aligned with the objectives of the groups. Applicants needs to be degree educated, have a solid track record of business development, corporate affairs, public relations, journalism and/or marketing experience at manager level preferably within a large international organization, preferably a sound demonstrable knowledge and experience of the mining and metals; working knowledge of the power sector, have previous management experience and prior knowledge of coordinating initiatives across both developed and emerging markets.
