Key Responsibilities:
- Recognise, understand and manage risk
- Providing quality legal service both in relation to transactions and day to day activities
- Liaising as required in relation to Investment Banking transactions
- Accessing the materiality of risks against risk appetite
- Working to create and embed a legal risk awareness culture within the business unit
- As appropriate, escalating and reporting of key risks and risk issues to stakeholders
- Updating the business unit on relevant legal developments and providing or organising training sessions by external providers to the business unit on legal developments and documentation
Technical knowledge /Education
- 5+ years' experience in private practice, and preferably some experience gained within an in house position in equity capital markets such as through a secondment.
- Sound knowledge of legal issues and requirements which affect the financial services sector, nominated consultants, MiFID businesses and corporate finance / corporate broking transactions.
- Regulatory and legal knowledge as appropriate to role is essential
