Privacy Counsel - Media/Entertainment - PQE 5-7

Our client, a leading, global entertainment and media company, is currently seeking a Privacy Counsel to join their new IP & Privacy team.

In an extremely visible role, you will act as the lead contact on Data Protection & Privacy across the entire European side of the business. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: being the day-to-day contact for all data protection queries and issues within the business, working with the wider legal and compliance team; negotiating data protection terms arising from 3^rd party engagements and consumer marketing, including commercial contracts, data transfers and customer terms; providing strategic counsel on consumer and employee data practices and policies, vendor and technology agreements and website and data collection; advising the business and fellow legal departments on GDPR compliance and requirements; and supporting the design of the global data privacy program.

To be considered, you will have c.5-7yrs PQE*; have excellent technical knowledge of data privacy law, including GDPR, social media and data commercialisation legal issues; and extensive experience of drafting and negotiating commercial transactions, privacy policies and other legal agreements. You will, ideally, hold a privacy certification; and it is essential that you have private practice experience, with in-house experience also preferred.
