Commercial Legal Counsel

An innovative software / SaaS company is looking for a commercial legal counsel to support their European division in Manchester. Boasting 'cool' offices and a relaxed but hard-working tech company culture, the legal counsel role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities of your new role

Report into the Group Counsel in Silicon Valley, your responsibilities as legal counsel will include:

• Drafting commercial contracts;
• Software/SaaS agreements;
• General commercial legal advice;
• Corporate governance; and
• Compliance.

It is likely that the legal counsel will have the opportunity to gain involvement in non-legal general commercial work, advice and strategy.

A high degree of autonomy and responsibility is expected of the legal counsel due to the time and jurisdictional differences, the rapid growth of the company, and because Commercial / IT Solicitor will be the company's only legal representative in Europe.

Skills, experience and qualification

Legal counsel candidates are expected to demonstrate:

• Full qualification and 2-5 years of PQE.
• Training and experience gained in the commercial or technology department of a leading regional, national or international law firm, or equivalent in-house department.
• Exceptional academic record and sound knowledge of commercial law.
