My client, a strong reputable regional firm with offer a full range of legal services and have 2 offices near Clapham Junction station and another in Dorking.

The company employs around 60 staff and their solicitors have a strong reputation for providing a tailored, personal service to all our clients - in an approachable, ethical and friendly way.

The department consists of 2 solicitos, 1 paralegal and one consultant.

The law firm encompasses a wide range of lease, possession, tenant and landlord matters. Fee earners often work at Legal Help level and take on a wide range of housing law issues as well as acting for a variety of both private individuals and small to medium businesses . The department often deals with both landlord and tenant enquiries as well as Freeholders and Leaseholders and the new enquiries are handled by the department's paralegal.

Solicitors are given a high level of responsibility within the firm and are required to satisfy regular audits whilst ensuring their case loads meet the required standards of the firm. Solicitors often dictate correspondence and have access to the firm's digital dictation suite, case management, outsourcing, secretarial support, paralegals and the assistance of trainee solicitors.

Main Responsibilities

To undertake fee earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the department.
To meet and exceed set financial targets in respect of fee earning work.
To act as a professional, responsible and senior representative of the firm at all times.
To contribute wherever possible to the success and development of the firm
To conduct client work allocated by the department head or other partners
To conduct client work circulated by trainee solicitors or paralegals
To engage with new enquiries face to face as well as via e-mail and telephone
To ensure that all client work is dealt with efficiently
To ensure that clients are regularly informed as to progress and costs
To exercise high standards of client care at all times
To comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors
To develop and maintain good working relationships with external institutions and local organisations
To supervise secretarial support and other immediate support staff as allocated resources
To keep up to date with changes in the relevant law
To know and comply with the Office Manual and firm guidance
To comply with relevant training requirements of the Law Society and to assist with any in-house training as may be required
To actively promote the services of the firm and its image at all times
To participate in marketing activities on a departmental and firm wide basis
To effectively manage the financial aspects of all client files for which you are responsible
To ensure the confidentiality of firm and client documents/information at all times
To review and supervise other fee earners and their case loads if required to do so
