Are you a Senior Associate in a leading City Disputes department, who has the talent and drive to make partner but worried about a bottleneck up ahead? Read on!

I'm delighted to be working with this small-mid sized City firm that has a meritocratic set-up and approach to promotions. The firm is looking to grow its Disputes team in the coming years and is looking to now on-board a talented Senior Associate who can become a partner in the future - this must be one of the clearest tracks in the City.

The 8 partner Dispute Resolution department is well supported by juniors/mid level trainees and is a popular department in which to qualify. A space has opened up for a driven, ambitious and talented senior associate to have a clear run. White Collar and Regulatory work is undertaken by a sub-team within the Disputes department, although there may be occasional overlap.

The practice has enjoyed success in civil fraud and heavyweight shareholder disputes. Most of the work has an international element and the practice is largely conflict-free, with no repeat work for financial institutions. There will be some international arbitration work, but mainly the work will be litigation.

How quickly someone can make partner is largely up to them and their performance. The team is keen to grow but will only hire someone at this level who is exceptional.

On offer, aside from great prospects, is the chance to join a truly collegiate firm that offers a better work/life balance to most in the City. Whilst this is so, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and want to further drive forward success of the practice. The firm is just a lot more pleasant than most and devoid of politics, with a nimble 'can-do' partnership.

We feel the role would suit someone from a larger City practice, maybe at 6-8 years' PQE, who has the ability and charisma to become a partner in a City firm but doesn't want to wait until 12 years' PQE or completely sacrifice their personal/family life to get there.
