An opportunity to really innovate and be a pivotal part of the London office and IT function of a superb US Law Firm.
You will lead a small team and be equally happy at the technical aspects of being a part of an IT function as well as the management aspects including being a part of the senior management team and coaching and mentoring junior members of the team.
Duties will include
- Provide general problem solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring by responding to escalated issues from first-level regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications
- Provide technical support for a variety of client/server applications: MS Windows 7, MS Office 2010, Citrix/XEN, VMWare VDI, Exchange/Outlook 2010, SCCM Remote Tool, iManage, InterAction, legal departmental applications, Cisco IPT, mobile smart-phones, tablets other mobile devices
- Provide technical assistance for remote users – XEN/Citrix, VMWare VDI, Web applications and Cisco VPN
- Ensures full compliance with security, disaster recovery and risk management policies and processes including, data backup, security, personal data protection, disaster recovery, outage communications and incident response policies/procedures
- Manages the delivery of end-user training, consulting and educational programs for the Office; ensures the content, quality and standards of in-house training and consulting matches global standards and meets local needs
- Install and maintain desktops, laptops, smart phones, tablets, printers, and all other peripherals
- Recognise, troubleshoot, and diagnose computer, Cisco IP phone, printer, software, and network connectivity problems
- Assist with inductions of new joiners to provide the necessary training, log-ins and information to effectively use firm systems
- Ensure leavers return equipment such as iphones’s and provide IT support when transferring data securely
- Extensive liaison with Director of Firm-wide IT and his department heads
- Budget responsibilities for London Office IT services expenditure, including reporting monthly actual to budget variances
- Update, renew and supervise the implementation of office software licenses
- Ensure that appropriate equipment and back-up facilities are available at all times
You will need experience of
- Working with MS Office 2010, ServiceNow, XEN/Citrix, VMWare VDI, iManage/Interwoven, SCCM and Bomgar Remote, eFax, audio/video equipment, smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices. “Hands on” experience with System Support, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of desktop/laptop software/hardware and basic knowledge of MS Windows7 administrative/support tools, Active Directory, LAN/WAN/WLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Cisco VPN and XEN/Citrix preferred
You will be an excellent leader and have strong communication skills (i.e. organising, consulting, planning, problem-solving, and independent decision making) necessary for effective management and interaction with people at all levels within the Firm. You will have an ability to develop knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures and have expert knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programs, including Windows 7/8 and Microsoft Office Suite and legal vertical market systems (e.g. DMS, time recording systems).
