A fantastic opening has arisen for a junior associate with one of the City's leading mid-size firms. The financial services regulatory team supports a broad range of clients including banks, insurers, payments firms, e-money issuers, crypto businesses, fund managers, P2P lending platforms and trading platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

This position requires a junior qualified solicitor to join and support the team on regulatory matters. The diet of work will be varied and will include:

  • Assisting on applications for FCA authorisation
  • Drafting policies
  • Advising clients on aspects of FCA and PRA rules
  • Negotiating outsourcing and product distribution agreements
  • Advising on the requirements of various EU Directives (including MiFID ii, PSD2, the Benchmarks Regulation and the Insurance Distribution Directive)
  • Providing AML guidance

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have around 1-3 years' PQE gained at a leading UK or international law firm 
  • Candidates with in-house experience (including the FCA) will be considered also
  • Pre-requisites for this role include an outstanding academic record allied to proven experience gained in a financial services regulatory team or its in-house equivalent
