Commercial Lawyer, Private Banking, 1-3 years PQE

Our client is a reputable and successful private bank based in the City looking for a legal counsel to join its small legal team which supports the activities of its group of companies based in the UK, Jersey, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Singapore, Ireland and Canada.

As they are aware that specialist private banking lawyers are rare at the junior level, our client is looking for generalist commercial lawyers with an interest in the sector who they can train up.

In this role you would be working on a broad range of matters including analysing the legal risks of the activities and operations offered to customer and prospective customers, in particular:

·               the activity of wealth planning and fiduciary activities (mainly private client trusts and institutional fiduciary services);

·               the provision of credit services;

·               financial services regulation and their impact on the business;

·               financing documentation and implementation of guarantees;

·               contracts with financial intermediaries and other commercial contracts with third parties; and

·               new products and services.

The ideal candidate will have between 1-3 years post qualification experience gained in private practice or in-house.
