My client is a major player across the media spectrum. From their heritage media brands to their digital and online presence, they are leaders in the field. They have a UK hub in Central London where they manage all their media and technology functionality. This is an exciting time to join the Group as they are undertaking a number of high profile acquisitions. Now they are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel - Media Group to join them an help build, grow and develop their already thriving brands.
Description
The Senior Legal Counsel - Media/Tech will become a leader in the team reporting directly to the General Counsel in London.
This role will responsible for supporting the traditional media areas
As the senior lawyer you will mentor the junior lawyer with regards to their work load.
- Providing expert counsel to senior management on the breadth of legal and commercial matters that arise.
- Providing legal, strategic and project management support to the General Counsel and the business on all acquisition activity (with external counsel resource )
- Identifying solutions and a legal framework for initiatives (particularly in the radio and online media sectors
- Typical commercial operations will include leading negotiations on a wide range of commercial contracts, technology agreements (especially ad tech agreements (ad serving, programmatic etc.), digital media agreements, advertising agency agreements and marketing agreements, broadcasting agreements, music rights/licensing, general IP, licensing and GDPR
Profile
The ideal Senior Legal Counsel - Media Group
- 5-8 PQE solicitor qualified in the UK (or international equivalent) including general corporate commercial experience gained at a top-tier law firm and some in-house experience. M&A experience a plus.
You must have a passion/interest in the Media industry
*PQE is a guideline - all levels of PQE will be considered should the experience be met.
