Commercial law firm in Bristol is looking to recruit a Construction lawyer of 2 or more years’ PQE to undertake a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. The team handles all legal (and many commercial) aspects on a wide range of construction projects and they regularly advise on procurement options and strategies (often in conjunction with the professional team or project manager and also on its own account) as well as advising on the specific legal aspects of the relevant documentation. They also handle many contentious construction matters.
The successful applicant will advise on a mixture of contentious (litigation, arbitration and adjudication as well as ADR) and non-contentious matters (which will include advising on methods of procuring construction projects as well as drafting construction contracts, development agreements, professional appointments and collateral warranties and security instruments). You should be familiar with a range of institutional contracts such as JCT, NEC or FIDIC suites. Their advice often forms an important part of wider commercial property or corporate transactions; and there is scope to handle some dispute-related advice – their contentious-construction specialists are very highly regarded. The result is an interesting portfolio of high quality and rewarding construction work.
In addition to applicants who are currently undertaking a mix of contentious and non-contentious Construction law, our client will also consider contentious specialists and non-contentious specialists who have now decided that they would now like to undertake a mix of contentious and non-contentious work instead.
