Legal Counsel

Hovis ltd, a popular household brand and key player in the UK FMCG sector, is looking for a legal counsel with sound commercial experience to join their in-house team in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Your new company

Hovis, popular throughout the UK due to its advertising and brand recognition for quality, is in the process of undergoing targeted growth in the market and is seeking to strengthen their in-house legal team.

Responsibilities of your new role

Working alongside the Head of Legal in a close-knit team, your main responsibilities as legal counsel will include:

• Working closely with the Procurement and Marketing teams;
• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of commercial contracts;
• Advising the business on exclusivity, term/termination, intellectual property and liability;
• Supporting all marketing activities, working with the Head of Regulatory Affairs to advise on content and copy relating to promotions, packaging and social media;
• Advising on anti-bribery, competition law and customer relations issues.

Requirements: Skills, experience and qualifications

Hovis are looking to hire a legal counsel who can demonstrate:

• Qualified commercial lawyer with 2-4 years of PQE and good academics;
• Interest in working in-house and solid experience of advising on commercial contracts and other commercial issues; and
• Knowledge of, or interest in, marketing and advertising law is beneficial.

This in-house counsel role is also open to commercial litigation or corporate lawyers seeking to take on a more general commercial role.

Salary and benefits

A highly competitive package and £50,000 - £60,000 per annum is on offer for the successful applicant.
