A top US Law Firm is looking to hire a new Business Development Specialist to work primarily within the European Life Sciences team, working directly with the Business Development Manager.  Responsibilities will include serving as lead project manager for RFPs and pitches (primarily in PowerPoint format), both for the primary practices and other groups, as necessary, spearheading briefing discussions to propose and/or understand the opportunity, writing new business proposals, conducts matters research and produces targeted, tailored responses to RFIs/RFPs, supporting follow-up, debrief activities post-pitch, and reports them back to the firm, in conjunction with the Business Development Managers in Europe, the Business Development and Marketing Manager for Global Life Sciences (based in the U.S.) and others, consults with practice leadership and key partners on development and coordination of marketing and client development plans for the group and individual lawyers within the PAT, attend and contribute to practice meetings and planning sessions. developing and refine processes and procedures relating to the practices’ business development “infrastructure” (e.g., written collateral; database/matter lists; contact lists; opportunity tracking; etc.). Maintains an acute level of quality control to ensure that all marketing collateral, communications, deal or matter lists and the like are consistent, error-free and up to date. Ensures processes are efficient and the best possible use is made of available technology and other resources, tracks and analyses practice initiatives and how those initiatives impact the group's budget and to provide evaluation of past initiatives to determine if there is sufficient ROI to repeat those initiatives.  Other duties include coordinating with the Market Intelligence team to conduct industry and client research to aid in practice development initiatives, facilitates the planning, implementation and follow-up of new business or cross-marketing opportunities.  Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years Business Development experience within a law firm, along with being degree educated and having strong, written, communication and organisational skills.
