Legal Counsel

The dynamic in-house legal team of an international manufacturer and retailer are looking for a senior legal counsel to join them for a full-time, permanent position in Chester. The business will consider offering this role on 4 days per week for the right candidate.

Your new company

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a rare senior role in Chester with a business on the verge of investment and growth. Reporting into the General Counsel, you will work as part of a small in-house team with exposure to senior management in a fun, flexible environment. Given impending transactions this is a very exciting time for the business and the legal team.

The role and responsibilities

As legal counsel you will enjoy a varied commercial role. Your primary duties will include:

• Offering commercial advice to the business
• Involvement in corporate transactions, compliance, regulatory work, projects and HR;
• Day to day responsibility of the function, with support from the GC; and
• Working with and supporting a newly qualified solicitor.

Required skills, experience and qualifications

Given the autonomy in this role, the team are looking to hear from applicants who demonstrate:

• Full qualification and 5+ years of PQE;
• Previous in-house experience; and
• Sound knowledge and strong experience across the full range of commercial law work.

Salary and benefits

As legal counsel at this business you will benefit from:

• £75,000 - £85,000 per annum, DOE;
• Option to work from home; and
• Potentially a 4 day a week role for the right person.
