Key Responsibilities of the Senior Paralegal:
The Senior Paralegal will work under the supervision of the department's Operations Managers, the Head of Operations and the instructing lawyer and will be responsible for a range of tasks including the following:
- Providing supervision and guidance to the paralegals
- Carrying out quality assurance exercises to ensure the quality of the work completed by paralegals
- Providing feedback and coaching paralegals
- Carrying out some line management responsibilities as required
- Managing legal projects
- Preparing precedents and guidance
- Drafting certain transaction documents and letters
- Using technology such as Kira and Relativity to supplement the completion of legal work
You will also be required to fee-earn, completing a range of legal tasks such as:
- Drafting corporate legal review summaries and reports using the firm's standard reporting templates
- Assisting with reviewing and tagging documents for responsiveness to regulatory questions posed by the Competition and Markets Authority and other regulatory bodies
- Preparing schedules to reflect draft amendments to legislation and incorporating addenda to existing client contracts to comply with regulatory changes
- Reviewing loan/financing documentation for specific provisions within the context of transactions and providing analysis on complex contractual clauses
- Building due diligence questionnaires into the firm's virtual data room site, CC Connect, and carrying out validation and testing to ensure that the questionnaire is fit for project requirements
- Drafting letters and/or regulatory filings, employee and shareholder notifications arising out of contractual or M&A reporting obligations
- Summarising responses to requests for arbitration and counterclaims from counterparties in disputes.
